Pros
The office location was excellent, with plenty of walkable spots to enjoy during breaks and lunch. I also appreciated the opportunity to bring my dog to work, which made the environment much more enjoyable. Many of the agents were kind and pleasant to work with, which added to the overall positive atmosphere.
Cons
I often felt underutilized in my role, which left me unchallenged and under-stimulated. While I thrive in busy, task-oriented environments, many agents (even those with offices) rarely came in, leaving little day-to-day activity to manage. Compass emphasizes collaboration, but in my experience, it was sometimes excessive. Weekly “POD” meetings lacked clear direction and often felt more like information dumping than actionable planning. I also recognize that I work best independently. The corporate emphasis on team-building and politics didn’t align with my natural strengths. Additionally, the office culture leaned toward cliques and performative interactions, which made it difficult to build authentic working relationships. Overall, the role seemed to value social dynamics over meaningful job functions, which wasn’t the best fit for my work style.
