Pros

I don’t mean to sound like a negative Nancy but I really can’t think of any.

Cons

Micromanaged. Disrespected. Nepotism abounds. The problem with this company is that it has so many small town hospices they are all managed differently and the management isn’t necessarily in the medical field therefore doesn’t understand what a nurse is responsible for nor her ability to be autonomous and make a nursing decision. I worked for this company for five years in 2 different states, Arizona and Illinois. It’s not about individualizing each patient’s care plan to them. All patients are treated the same and it’s not about the patient’s well-being and what you can go above and beyond ,it’s all about the money and getting as many Medicare admissions as you can, Regardless if they are hospice appropriate. They literally would punish you for not admitting a patient because they were not appropriate per Medicare guidelines. This hospice is a complete money grab.

Pros

Meaningful work, supportive team environment, opportunity to help families during difficult times.

Cons

Due to my compassion, it can be emotionally demanding at times and challenging to separate work from personal emotions.
