Great Company, Very Pleasant Place to Work - Software Engineer Computer Modelling Employee Review

Pros

A really stable company even in economic downturns, so stock options have been quite valuable in the past. Very positive culture and helpful, friendly people. The company is small enough that you can get to know almost everyone. Located near the University, which helps avoid traffic. Flexible hours. Very casual dress code for R&D team. Lots of opportunity to take initiative if you want to.

Cons

The Calgary team is split in two, which can make communication a little more difficult. However, they are currently building a beautiful new office, which will fix that! Also, I'm sure it varies but I found it to sometimes be on the "comfortable" side. It's easy to just coast. If you want a challenge it probably has to come from within as opposed to from someone else in the company.
