Pros
-flexible schedule -wonderful coworkers -professional development opportunities -really fulfilling work
Cons
-Not a whole lot of job security (coworkers disappear without a trace, you might too). -Company values are a complete joke, and will only ever be used against you. -Toxic positivity prevents any real progress from being made. -Administration seemingly has no idea what goes into their own product, and does not appreciate the people that allow the company to continue to operate. -Management killed one of the coolest things this NOT-FOR-PROFIT organization had because it did not make money. The job was incredibly fun and it meant a lot to me, which is why it hurts to see how much it changed. When I first started, I was amazed by the work being done and the potential that this company had. Since then, nearly everything I loved about working for connected camps is gone. There is no longer any charitable mission despite what admin may say. There is no more growth and new ideas. The only thing left is a bunch of underpaid counselors fighting over a laughably small amount of shifts each week, and management pretending everything is okay. The "values" ceremonies where everyone cheers for themselves as the company continues to drown are borderline insulting to those that believed in the values of this company. This was once the best job I ever had, and it makes me sad to see what it has become.
