Pros

Low amount of staff at the Colorado location

Cons

Poor management. Hands-off leadership who are more focused on pushing billable hour requirements than promoting ethical practices. Direct support staff are severely underpaid and upper-management staff are overpaid for doing work that never directly impacts staff. This may be a Colorado-specific issue, but overall very emotionally draining experience to work for this company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. The field of ABA continues to evolve, and we are committed to growing in ways that strengthen both our clinical quality and the support we provide to our team. As a family-owned organization, we have always believed that investing in people is the foundation for long-term success. Our RBT and BCBA training and mentorship programs are something we are especially proud of. They were thoughtfully created based on feedback from our staff and continue to evolve based on what our team tells us they need to be successful. We see mentorship as more than onboarding. It’s ongoing guidance, collaboration, and leadership development designed to support clinicians at every stage of their career. When our team members feel supported and confident, they stay, they grow, and they deliver consistent, high-quality care. That investment in our staff directly impacts the children and families we serve and helps drive meaningful, lasting outcomes. We truly appreciate you recognizing these efforts and being part of the Continuum community. — The Continuum Team

Pros

Exceptional local leadership from internal/local management. Supportive, ethical, and present day-to-day. Strong clinic culture and coworkers who truly cared about clients and one another.

Cons

This clinic did not close because of poor performance, lack of care, or ineffective local leadership. It closed because of sustained executive-level neglect, poor planning, and decisions that prioritized convenience over people. Our internal, local management were outstanding. They were present, ethical, and consistently advocated for staff and clients under extremely challenging circumstances. The outcome of this clinic was not a reflection of their leadership or effort. Executive leadership was largely disengaged while the clinic was operating. Support was minimal, visibility was rare, and critical needs went unaddressed for extended periods. When challenges arose, leadership failed to provide meaningful stabilization, interim support, or long-term solutions. The closure itself was handled abruptly and without transparency. Staff were informed with limited notice, no severance was provided, and communication lacked empathy or accountability. The process left employees and families feeling blindsided and disposable. Chronic understaffing, unfilled leadership roles, and unrealistic workload expectations were ongoing issues. Compensation did not reflect the demands placed on staff, raises were infrequent, and requests for additional resources were routinely denied. The cumulative impact of these decisions made it clear that staff, clients, and families were treated as numbers rather than people. Ethical, client-centered care was repeatedly compromised by executive inaction and cost-driven priorities. Despite a dedicated clinical team and strong local leadership, executive failure ultimately undermined the clinic. I would strongly discourage clinicians and families from joining an organization that does not demonstrate accountability, transparency, or respect for the people who sustain it.

We recognize that the closure of our Tennessee clinic was emotional and difficult for staff and families, and we understand that individuals may experience that transition differently. We appreciate the dedication of our clinical team and agree that our local staff worked hard under challenging circumstances. For clarity, the decision to close the clinic was not related to performance, quality of care, or local leadership. It followed more than a year of sustained efforts to recruit and retain in-person clinical leadership. During that time, executive and senior clinical leadership provided extensive support to the Tennessee clinic, including multiple in-person, week-long visits to provide training and clinical oversight, as well as ongoing daily calls with the local leadership team to support operations, staffing, and clinical decision-making. Much of this support occurred at the leadership level and may not have been visible to all staff. When it became clear that stable, in-person clinical leadership could not be secured, continuing operations would not have been responsible or ethical for our clients, families, or team members. The decision to close was made with careful consideration of clinical integrity and long-term sustainability. In preparation for the closure, we worked closely with local leadership to ensure all clients were transitioned to new ABA providers to support continuity of care. We also worked directly with staff to provide references, resume support, and interview guidance. As a result, every employee was able to secure continued employment with other organizations. Executive leadership was present during the clinic’s closure to support staff, assist families with transitions, answer questions, and ensure an orderly and respectful transition of the physical space. While clinic closures are never easy, our actions were guided by accountability, transparency, and responsibility to the people we serve. We remain committed to ethical leadership, investing in people, and supporting our teams. We wish our former employees continued success and thank them for the care they provided to our clients.
