Pros
Vendors provide much needed product training and lunch and learn.
Cons
My experience at Cook’s Direct was disappointing due to a lack of structure and professionalism. There is no formal training program, and employees are often expected to learn on their own without clear guidance or support. The company does not have documented standard operating procedures (SOPs), which creates confusion and inconsistency across departments. Within the sales team, there is a noticeable level of misogyny and gender bias, making it difficult for women to feel respected or supported in their roles. Additionally, the company does not adhere to a 30-60-90 day performance improvement or onboarding plan, leaving new hires without the feedback or development opportunities necessary to succeed. Overall, Cook’s Direct would benefit greatly from professional HRoversight, standardized training, and a workplace culture built on equity, accountability, diversity and respect.
