Pros
Getting to talk about cooking every day with likeminded people that have the same passion. Really good pay for the industry
Cons
I don’t know how to even express with words how nasty the business owner is. She preaches about ‘niceness’ and makes a big deal about it in the hiring process which lures you in but I have never worked for a nastier person. And due to the small business element, there is no HR. She will, and has, fired people who have stood up to her, and lied about her reasoning. There is a general consensus across the whole company that she is unfair, erratic, and often talks to people like dirt on her shoe. Gems such as ‘I don’t pay you to think, I pay you to do what I say’ If you want consistency in training, this is also the wrong company for you, because she will tell you to do one thing and then the following week ask why you have done that thing and tell you that she doesn’t like it. And at this point you’re too scared to tell her that she asked for it to be done in the first place. She has no boundaries or respect for personal time. This job was honestly hell, and I sincerely hope that everyone who feels the way that I do, gets out too! No wonder turnover is so high even with high pay….
