Pros
I have been with Core and main for over a decade. When I started the company seemed too good to be true, Upper Management, VP and CEO were all very personable and made you feel like they really cared about the employees and like you were family. That has changed a bit, partially because most of us at corporate work remotely since the pandemic so its understandable for that dinamic to change a little. -Working remotely is a Huge Pro - As long as you do your work, management gives you a decent amount of freedom. - Vacation time and sick time are decent for salary workers. - Most managers give recognition for hard work. - Great people within the company - referral bonuses - anual bonuses based on company performance
Cons
The biggest Con is the Pay. There has been zero compensation for inflation. Management thinks that a yearly 2% or 3% increase is sufficient every year to keep up with it, but then they load their employees down with extra workloads. And regardless of how often employees voice the need for raises to match the inflation rate, it completely gets ignored and the company refuses to even address the subject. Every since the company went public, it seems like they only care about making more money, lining upper management pockets, and aquiring more and more new companies. Telling us "lets work harder so Core and Main can go from a 7 billion dollar company to a 10 billion dollar company. They need to revisit their core values and invest in their employees, and provide them with compensation that matches todays inflation rate before they lose a lot of great loyal employees.
