Unachievable expectations- you're given too many tasks to complete in too little time, then management complains that everything takes too long when in reality there is one engineer doing the job of two. The company puts off this image of being family friendly and having work/life balance, yet evening and weekend work is required. It could be more of a team environment-most of the time you're working by yourself. Yet working from home is frowned upon. The company could create a more innovative environment by allowing for collaboration to take place between engineers and within the company and outside groups. The company is small, there is little room for advancement.
