Pros
Free samples. Regular customers who start to feel like a family. Great retail hours Great 401k match 4% Vacation time after a year (that you'll never be able to use) Sick time (again, you'll never be able to use) Potential for upward mobility from the sales associate level, stops at store manager, and don't be surprised if you are passed up for someone from the outside.
Cons
No life outside of CosmoProf Lean staff so the manager is always working over 40 hours Even with the staff that steadily shows up, the amount of payroll hours they give for the work thats expected to be done results in the manager living at the store. Lazy district managers who don't do their job. Measly pay for sales associates (Minimum wage, even with a Cosmetology license) which prevents you from being able to hire the best workers, and if you find someone willing to work for pennies they leave after they find something better. Measly pay for Managers as well. Assistants get a dollar over minimum wage, and Managers get 12.50-14. High stress because of ordering, managing, correction counts, hiring, planoguide changes, and customer demands. Impossible to take time off, and if you don't use it your vacation hours don't rollover into the next year. Impossible to speak to upper management about issues going on in the district because ultimately they were the one who hired the problem. Raises are a joke. 30 cents a year, which is abysmal.
