Pros

Employee discount and amazing team members Added benefits for part time employees finally.

Severely understaffed and under paid. Assistant manager raise from associate is only .50¢-$1 unless you’re manager suggests a higher rate that the DM approves of. Even as a Manager my pay isn’t technically horrible but I still barely can cover all my bills and live comfortably. Store hours are constantly cut because “sales are down.” Inventory is absolutely horrendous! We are constantly told vendors are experiencing backorders but when they stop by or call stores they say they have everything in their warehouses but SBH isn’t buying anything! East coast stores are FULL of all the “back ordered” products but the PNW suffers. JDA is absolutely broken and worthless. They say they send what the store needs but we only ever receive 1 of each product most of the time. We’re expected to be individual marketing agents and get paid nothing more for it. Turnover rates are extremely high because we only pay minimum wage and have no room for advancements and we can only hire part time 5-20hrs most of the time. Employees are told by DMs and Regional Managers to LIE to customers to sell tickets to virtual education events and to apply for the credit card we have and even called us “living billboards.” Corporate cuts corners left and right just to pinch pennies and they don’t care about the consequences for the stores and people it affects. Policies have gone out the window because they want us to make customers happy 24/7 so if they complain enough we are TOLD directly to break any policy just to make them happy and have a good experience. So many high expectations and even if you are meeting them at any level corporate is never happy. The CCC position they paraded around and hold so highly is a sham. Its just a glorified associate expected to act like a rep and marketing manager with only a 5% (max) pay raise….which technically is only like .50-.60¢. They’re supposed to post on social media constantly and get customers to book appointments to talk about color intro kits and even visit salons for that exact reason and get people to sign up for our credit card. If fact they are supposed to spend 50% of time in salons getting color intros sold and 50% in store as an associate. Sounds great until they realize pay is bad, have added responsibility, were lied to about the job description, sit through 3hr long calls that repeat biweekly with same information they already learned 4 weeks ago. Instead the CCC position is just a normal associate with higher expectations put on them and meant to push color sales hard on customers and to get as many credit card apps as possible. Over the years the team morale has gotten very very low because of what corporate expects from stores. There’s honestly so many more cons but I don’t want to write an entire essay on why SBH and Cosmoprof by extension are absolutely horrible.

Pros

Easy job Discount Free samples(sometimes) Don’t have to deal with the public because it is only licensed professionals

Cons

You work alone for a few outs Also if you are scheduled Sundays you work alone. Some people come in and steal and it’s scary if you don’t know how to handle the situation. Especially if you are alone Even though you don’t have to deal with the public you do at the same time because some people come in and try to shop even though they don’t have a license.
