Pros

Peers were good people, smart, dedicated, fun to work with. Initially the work environment was fun and challenging, but it changed quickly.

Cons

All of them are gone, either fired or left because owners want absolute control, no questioning of decisions. If you want to be engaged and have input, this is not the place to work. Philosophy towards staff is do what you are told, shut up, don't complain, and don't question anything.

Pros

The owners are excellent people. Breakfast every Friday. Recognises that modernization is necessary. If you're expecting the billion dollar mentality that comes in an O&G company where money comes in hand over fist, you won't find it. At this company, they get their money and reputation the hard way. They earn it through hard work. The owners take customer service very seriously. I have heard many conversations where the company absolutely bent over backwards to accommodate a special request for a customer. In a world where people switch jobs every couple years, there are numerous people that have been here over 10 years, or even more. This company shows up on the list of top places to work in Houston year over year over year. There is a reason for that. If you want a company that you can stay with for a long time... this is it. I almost forgot. Once you've been here a little while and you've established that you're reliable, they will bend over backwards for YOU. Sick kid and both parents work? No problem. They are about family.

Cons

Being a small company has it's down side. That is, simply, it's small. Changes happen slower than they would at a multi-billion dollar corp.. but.. the positive to that is that more people have a say in the direction of the company, rather than executives saying "cuz I said so."
