Pros

There’s a vibe that is electric. We get to live the experience curator mindset every day. We are given the creative flexibility to do something different. Create the experience. This kind of energy matches the roar of the Oklahoma Thunder.

Cons

Doesn’t allow for set schedule.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for being part of Coury Hospitality over the last several years. We love hearing that the energy, creativity, and Experience Curator mindset are coming to life in such a meaningful way in Oklahoma City. We also appreciate your honest feedback around scheduling. Hospitality can bring a rhythm that is less predictable than many industries, but we know consistency matters and will continue looking for ways to better support our Curators while still delivering exceptional guest experiences. Thank you again for your recommendation and encouragement to keep growing in OKC. We’re excited for what’s ahead!

Pros

Pay is competitive compared to similar roles in hospitality, and you’ll learn quickly because you’re basically forced to figure things out on your own. Most coworkers at the property and HQ level genuinely try their best despite the lack of support.

Cons

Minimal onboarding and almost no real training. If you don’t come in already experienced, expect to struggle. Expectations constantly change depending on who you ask, and communication from leadership is inconsistent. The company culture feels cliquey and political, and there’s a major disconnect between corporate leadership and what actually happens on property. Favoritism is noticeable, and employees are often expected to “drink the Kool-Aid” instead of addressing real operational issues. A lot of employees express these same frustrations privately behind closed doors, but I've seen none comfortably say it openly because of the politics and fear of backlash.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We are glad to hear that you see opportunity within Coury Hospitality and recognize the experienced coworkers who are genuinely committed to doing their best. At the same time, we take your concerns seriously. As Coury Hospitality continues to grow, we know that our internal systems, communication rhythms, and leadership support must continue to grow with us. The themes you mentioned around training and operational alignment are important, and they are areas we are actively working to strengthen. We never want any Curator to feel unsupported, unheard, or hesitant to share feedback. A strong culture is not built by asking people to "drink the Kool-Aid.” It is built by listening honestly, addressing gaps, and creating the structure needed for people to succeed consistently. Your comments reinforce the importance of continued investment in onboarding, leadership development, and stronger connection between our corporate teams and property teams. We appreciate you raising these concerns, and we invite you to share more through any of our available feedback channels so we can better understand your experience and continue improving.
