Pros
Being in Miami, there are cool events to attend, and having 99JAMZ looks good on a resume from the outside looking in from most people in the industry.
Cons
People in management do NOT run the stations. Leadership and a few people in corporate making all the decisions on who get opportunities and who don't. The PD, APD, station manager can love and believe in you BUT if the 4 people in leadership (the same people who don't ever listen to the station, are not in the building or in the community with the team and have no clue what is going on based on a day-to-day operation) don't rock with you, you are screwed. So much so, a known racist in the radio industry got a job at 99JAMZ, a heritage black station because she knew someone in leadership.
