Pros
Some great hires have been made, the workforce has a plethora of experience. Flexibility around working from home. Feels like a start-up, there has been a conscientious effort to set solid foundations with regards to diversity & culture.
Cons
Leadership is incredibly poor, there is blatant nepotism, which in turn has encouraged a culture of sycophancy/schoolyard clique-ness. Much like the current government, the interests and ideas of leadership supersedes any logic or thought of the workforce. There is no direction or strategy from Senior Leadership, it is very clear they are not the correct people to be leading this company at such a pivotal point of growth. People with zero experience in important, integral leadership roles have been handed senior roles here despite them clearly being the wrong candidates by showing their incompetence at any given opportunity. The tagline of the business is to 'Optimise to Innovate' but there is nothing innovative about the UK business, any new ideas are shot down and there are huge gaps in skillsets. There is an accepted expectation that you will take on responsibilities that would normally never be deemed as part of your role for no extra pay or credit. Moreover, there is an expectation you will work beyond your working hours, again for no extra pay or credit. The UK arm lacks core processes and procedures, things you would expect any functioning business to possess are absent at Crayon and any of the processes that do exist are convoluted and messy.
