      At least it's a paycheck

      If you do something managers think is wrong, you'll definitely hear about it. But if you do something spectacular, like create a control piece or an award-winning campaign, you can be sure that the guy signing your paycheck is going to take all the credit. He submitted a campaign I wrote to a marketing awards competition under his name. When it won, not only did he never tell me, he hung the award that was written with HIS name on it. That is but one demonstration of how little they think of their employees. I truly feel for the people who have worked there since I left. Trust me, you're better than to settle for that.

      Thank you for the feedback. As a process we do typically have a copywriter produce the bones of a piece that is worked on rigorously with creative direction from Craig. As any agency would, the awards are then submitted in his name as the Creative Director. I apologize if you’re offended by this practice, but we believe it’s best to have the awards in the name of the company. I understand that Creative can feel personal so when critiqued it can be received negatively. We have a rather positive and happy environment here and things have come a long way since Torrance. We’ll continue to check in with employee’s, especially those who work in the creative department to foster a sense of comradery.

      1. Collaborative, Knowledgeable, and Expert Team and Leadership 2. Respect for Work/Life Balance and Families 3. Friendly Environment, Neat Building and Decor, and a great Neighborhood for coffee and lunch.

      Cons

      The nature of the campaigns requires shuffling and work can get log jammed.

      Pros

      -Opportunities to use and develop skills -The company does host holiday parties and tries to make employees feel appreciated on their birthdays, but there's room for improvement in the overall culture. -The AP + Receivable and office managers here are very friendly and are nice people here that try to make you as comfortable as possible -The president is generally affable but can have his moments.

      Cons

      -Highly conservative and religious environment. -Lack of diversity in the small team (could be contributed to talent pool, who knows). -Potential for discomfort or hostility if beliefs don't align (you might be baited & scrutinized, I was baited then screamed at for an opposing view though want to say I did eventually get an apology during my exit interview which I could appreciate). -Had to endure a microaggression although it may just be contributed to ignorance. (being called articulate as the only young Black woman in the workplace is not the compliment one thinks it is).
