Pros
The occasional good customer who understands that you're just doing your job
Cons
KPIs so many damn KPIs, you exist not to sell hardware but KPIs. Management will hammer into that your SQ is too low and that you need to up-sell MORE CAREPLAN!!!! The customers eyes glaze over whenever I went from "Guy who knows what he is talking about" to "Here comes the hard sell on extras I don't want" The newer staff are all 18-21 to avoid the NLW and as a result are basically children with no work ethic. After a manic and high pressure winter season we all received a cut of 4hrs a week (tantamount to a 10% pay cut) to 'save on costs' as a way of saying thanks for the hard work. Head office have little to no idea how the shop floor actually runs and works on a day to day basis and keep adding little extras to each sale to try and maximise revenue, as I was leaving they were trying to add utilities swapping to the extra things to sell a customer. Knowhow is a joke of a name, KnowNothing would be more fitting, we had more complaints about the delivery and installation team than I could have ever thought possible. The hours are supposed to be given on a 4week ahead rota, but the days and hours of work varies so wildly that you can't really plan to do anything consistently each week that you lose any semblance of a work/life balance. A horrible, horrible place to work.
