Pros
Job security here is very good.
Cons
Pay here is very low. I can't say what I did to maintain anonymity, but I did some VERY important things at DMBA that we very impactful for it's members and the Church. There would be serious consequences to thousands of people if I were to make a mistake in my job. My compensation for this was insanely low given the impact my work had. I received "exceeds expectations" on every performance review and was not promoted in 5 years even when asking for a promotion. There is a lot of red tape and hoops to get through for a promotion to be approved and if you land a promotion it's likely to only be a small jump on the pay scale. Many employees here are confused about what "good culture" means. It does not mean company golf day, company Lagoon day, and 3 wellness days a year. Every manager I had at DMBA was an extreme workaholic that took maybe 1 short vacation per year, worked over 50 hours per week, and micromanaged everyone on their team. Their managers did the same so changes would have to start at the top and I don't see that happening with their new CEO.
