Pros
The pros to the job vary depending on where you work. In general: flexible working hours, good benefits, periodic training, good entry level job.
Cons
I work at DTE's nuclear power facility and the cons reflect work-life specific to that part of the company. Employees like working for other parts of the company (e.g. corporate office). Work hours can vary for engineers depending on the unit you work in. Working periodic shifts (nights/weekends) in support of the plant system outages is typical. Your "reward" for doing a good job at something is more work. Recognition of accomplishments is mandatory for managers/supervisors so the recognition feels forced. On one hand the work is monotonous, but can be varied. If you work at the nuclear facility and want to apply to other parts of the company you will be blocked.
