Pros
I had the privilege of spending over three wonderful years at David Andrew Estates. I am thankful for the opportunities for learning, growth, and development that were provided to me during my time in the role.
A particular mention to the property management department. Their role is often challenging and can be thankless, yet the team was consistently welcoming, kind, and eager to assist, especially the head of department, head of accounts and the senior property manager.
Due to the nature of the industry, workload fluctuated with seasonality, with the summer months often being particularly busy - which could be understandably challenging. However, there was a strong sense of "we're all in this together" - which made the intense periods manageable. The payoff felt rewarding as the quieter months approached.
The environment never felt excessively corporate, and there was a genuine trust that allowed for autonomy in managing one's workload for the most part.
The director was friendly and approachable, showing a genuine concern for both the business and the staff.
I wish David Andrew Estates continued success and growth. I will genuinely miss my fantastic colleagues across all departments.
Cons
At times, the business felt traditional, and there's room for modernising and streamlining some of the systems and software to enhance efficiency.
More team-building and social events across offices may have been beneficial (as well as fun!) along with improved communication between teams and offices; this could have fostered better inter-departmental understanding and empathy towards the challenges each department faces.
