This was not a remote collaboration. I was required to physically travel to the session location, reorganize my professional schedule, miss paid working days, and spend my own money to attend sessions. Despite this effort, the process was marked by extreme disorganization, multiple cancelled or mishandled appointments, and contradictory information from staff.
At one point, I was explicitly told that a session was confirmed, only to later be informed—after I had already displaced myself and escalated internally—that the session had supposedly been cancelled via an email I never received. This caused unnecessary stress, embarrassment, and direct financial loss.
What is particularly alarming is that Defined.ai is a technology company working on AI solutions, yet it failed at the most basic professional task: sending a clear and reliable email. If a company cannot ensure fundamental communication with its collaborators, it seriously raises concerns about how responsibly it can manage complex AI development.
Despite my availability, preparation, and good-faith participation, no payment has been made to this day. This reflects a complete lack of respect, accountability, and ethical responsibility toward external collaborators.
