Work with excellent defence equipment. SA had some of the best in the world, 30 years ago. I reported briefly to one of the people who was involved in making the 6 nuclear bombs SA had. The US CIA was never quite sure, and didn't know where the bombs were manufactured and hidden. All this was done on a thin budget, with bits of knowledge acquired from across the world and further developed here in South Africa.

It is no surprise that Denel, decades ago a technical behemoth, now have only 96 engineers and scientists in a workforce of 1,600 employees. Detailed reports are secret, but Denel had "thousands" in the 1990s, in a workforce of 15,000.
