Pros

Working from home is the best. I don't have to talk to the clients, work when I want, don't fight weather or customers or bosses. There are many days I never leave the house and wear sweats to work.

Cons

My supervisors won't give me feedback on my performance. I want to do a good job, but don't know if I'm messing up. I can't fix what I don't know about.

Pros

1) Comprehensive training program - you must pass before you can start transcribing; 2) A manual is provided for quick reference; 3) If the manual doesn't have the answer, staff is available to quickly answer your questions; 4) You make your own schedule, request as little or as much work as you want 5) Interesting work

Cons

Some of the audio (especially during the pandemic) is difficult to hear. I've transcribed for some companies that didn't provide a manual or training. It always seemed like the answers to your questions depended on who you asked. At Deposition Services, the training and manual ensure that work is done consistently across the board. Coming from a legal office background, I appreciate that structure.

Pros

Good audio net 30 day no hounding or aggressive emails to take work complete flexibility

Cons

After training period, there is not much feedback. If there is, there is never a red-line documen to support claims of poor quality work. Incentive program being run that leaves less work for new hires or those who can't take huge amounts of pages.

Thank you for your candid feedback. We're sorry you're not satisfied with the Transcriber Incentive Program. Many transcribers are and incentive can be attained by transcribing as few as 100 average pages per week. While we respect that you may desire to work less than that, the incentive program is meant to provide an incentive to those individuals who can provide additional services. During its first year, the incentive program is forecast to pay over $100,000 to eligible transcribers. While you may be disappointed with your progress in the program, many have taken advantage of the Program and earned significantly more money. We will be continuing it for the foreseeable future to provide reward and recognition to your colleagues. Every transcriber is assigned a contract manager, so it's disheartening to hear that you feel like you're "lost in the shuffle". We have transcribers who take anywhere from 25-50 pages per week and upwards to 900+. Every contract manager keeps in contact with all of their transcribers but, as you mention, we do not hound you or send aggressive emails. If you feel like you're "lost in the shuffle", please reach out to us. If you're concerned with transcriber pay, we're happy to speak with you about it or if you would like additional work, we've happy to provide it. As it relates to higher paying work (i.e. 2-day and overnight work), that work is assigned to transcribers who have proven reliable with quick turnaround work. Most evenings, due to the amount of work we receive, we're looking for assistance with quick turnaround work. Again, I encourage you to speak with your manager if you feel you're not getting faster turnaround work. Perhaps you haven't shown an interest in the past or reliability has been a concern, but we're more than happy to consider you again. Thanks again for your review.
