Pros
They spend a lot of money on unimportant things (kitchenmate, a peloton, sparkling water and a fancy coffee machine) to distract people from how they treat their employees.
Cons
They spend a lot of money on useless things (kitchenmate, a peloton, sparkling water and a fancy coffee machine) to distract people from how horrible they treat their employees. Diamond has been a terrible place since before their awful treatment of employees after Covid. Regular layoffs, lazy and entitled managers and directors with zero accountability, and ridiculous working hours with below-average compensation. Diamond also employs managers and directors who have said and done some awful things (including making racist and sexist jokes and remarks). But haha, that’s just how it is! All those people are still employed at Diamond and were not affected by the covid-related layoffs, yet 1/3 of the company (yes you read that right) were unceremoniously disposed of, starting as soon as THREE days after the lockdown in March 2020. Seriously. They kept spewing the same nonsense about “being compassionate in the layoffs”, but spoiler alert, that didn’t happen. There were multiple rounds of layoffs, and after that the culture of the company took a greater hit. Everyone was terrified they would be next. It created an extremely unhealthy, toxic environment. They kept talking about bringing the laid off employees back but that didn’t happen either - they let go every single person permanently. As much as the CEO cried about the layoffs, no one in leadership took any steps to prevent them. Diamond let go of a lot of fantastic friends and co-workers but kept on some of the worst and more useless people. There are people who probably make six figures at diamond whose only tasks are to create powerpoints no one reads, and google covid facts to pass it onto us. The company is so proudly blind of all of its flaws and refuses to change. Management is awful and toxic, and every person I know disliked their direct manager. My own manager was a toxic, patronizing, disrespectful human being who delighted in talking down to people any chance they got. I am now a job where I am valued by my company, my team, and my manager and it is a great feeling. Steer clear of this place (unless you enjoy being disrespected)
