Pros
Diamond Tours is selective in who they hire. It has created a work environment of experienced tour operators who help each other. It’s an open door, team setting. The salary is good but tour managers live for the bonuses, which can be substantial. If you take on more tours and work within budget (on the elements of the tour that you set up) you can make a ton. In that sense you have some control of growing your bonus checks. You must have hospitality in your blood and enjoy solving problems, which inevitably come up in travel. There are many tour mangers at Diamond Tours who have been there over 5 years and really love their job. It’s hard work, but it’s well worth it.
Cons
You can get calls outside of office hours when things arise on one of your tours out on the road.
