This employer demonstrates a complete disregard for their employees, treating individuals merely as numbers in a system rather than valuing their contributions. Promises made during the hiring process are often broken, leading to a sense of disillusionment among staff. Furthermore, the environment is toxic, with some employees feeling empowered to spread damaging rumors, misappropriate tips, and disregard established protocols, all of which jeopardize both the well-being of the animals in our care and the integrity of the company as a whole. I ultimately decided to submit my two-week notice because the situation became unbearable. Despite my efforts to address these issues and my expressed discomfort, management failed to take any meaningful action to improve the workplace or protect their employees. Instead of supporting a dedicated team member who genuinely cared about the success of the company, they chose to let me go after I had invested so much time and energy into my role. I once found joy in working there, but the deterioration of workplace culture has made that impossible. It feels incredibly disrespectful to let someone who truly wants to make a positive impact leave while maintaining a status quo that allows negative behavior to flourish. I feel so disrespected.
