Pros

The staff inside the stores are great people if they've been there since before Mr Halle's passing Benefits are alright, fairly expensive though(400+ per month for myself and child). Great entry level automotive experience.

Cons

After Mr Halle's passing the corporate higher ups took the company away from the mom and pop shop type feel that Mr Halle prided himself on. Constant heat from avps to both lower management and store manager, numbers produced from store were never good enough despite it's completely being customer cooperation as well as what area the store is located (i.e lower income areas). AVPs like to threaten your job with the smallest reasoning. "get your windshield wiper sales up to 10% or we can't guarantee your job." No help with staffing from corporate, so if the store is short on staff because today's people are afraid of hard work be ok with skipping your lunch after a 10+ hour day of manual labor. AVPs like to ride around is luxury vehicles to give the luxury lifestyle impression but you're grossly underpaid for the amount of work and time you're required to do. If your a manager and it's time for you to be transferred(usually after 2-3 years) they will send you to wherever needs help regardless of how far you live(my manager spent a daily drive time of 2-2.5 hours driving to work because they sent him from Mesa to Phoenix. When trying to make a plea to transfer closer to home for quality of life and expenses he was told flat out no with no explanation. Corporate can never make up their minds on the "best practices" they force you to go by. One week spacers aren't allowed to be installed and the next they are and then the following month they can't be installed again? This was just an example of one of many that have been changed numerous times. AVPs don't count their tech years to how long they have worked for the company, like the techs don't matter and aren't the entire backbone of the stores? What a joke, those techs are equally as important as anybody else probably even more so than a guy looking on a computer and letting a computer program pick out tires that are "best for the customer" You will do the work of someone higher than you and not be compensated for it because "that's delegating and that's how you should do it" (i.e being a workflow manager and being required to run the store, open to close, without the senior or store manager there). I did that on numerous occasions and when I tell many different AVPs over the years I want to move up and be senior and have my own store I'm by passed by the guy next to me who I've shown how to do his job, all because that guy kisses the AVPs butt everytime he walks in. Working 50+ hours a week (REQUIRED) getting home MUCH later than closing time, losing touch with immediate family and friends because you never have time to do anything because you're FORCED to work so much.
