Pros
I have been working at PI for almost a year. I came into the company in a different department. I was under performing and my probation got extended. I was approached by the CEO and was offered a different role. The first thing to understand about PI is that their culture means EVERYTHING to them. I was a good culture fit and they really did what they could to keep me. They offered me a role that was better suited to my strengths. I have been in this role since February and I have now passed my probation and I couldn't be happier. It is very rare that you get recognised for under performing and given a completely different role with a better opportunity. This is the type of place that PI is, they will do their best to help you and support you. The culture of the company makes you want to push yourself, work hard but also stay true to who you are and thrive.
Cons
Working in a start up is a con in its self. There are long hours and it is demanding. The mission we are on requires long hours and it is a demanding mission. There have been some posts left by previous staff members. Working in a founder led company is not for everyone. Sometimes there are decisions made that you might not agree with, but this isn't your company. Transparency is a huge thing here and when decisions are made we are know about it and it is discussed in great length. The main thing to take away is that you always want to be somewhere where the pros out weigh the cons. For me, this is that place.
Pros
I have almost 10 years work experience with several companies and this is the best job I've had, and that is due to the company ethos and culture. I've never experienced anything like this in the corporate finance world, private or the public sector. The management here really make a point of ensuring everyone is happy, productive and are fulfilling their potential. They're very open to people moving and progressing through the business and AC (our CEO) makes it clear that our career at Dozens is important to him, which is so unusual to hear from a CEO. It's a breath of fresh air being made to feel that we're all important to the company success and growth, and everybody's opinion matters. There are no stupid questions or opinions here! The salary is less than I'd have hoped for, but that's naturally going to be the case for a young start-up. The benefits definitely make up for this though; the people are amazing (a real mixed bag of experience, personalities and nationalities), free Friday lunches, private medical, 30 days holiday, the office is very cool with free drinks and a rooftop terrace, and there is a strong focus on company social activities. I'm so glad I work here; I think Dozens will be super successful and the experience and progression I'll gain here will be second to none.
Cons
The hours can be quite long and workstream, priorities and processes change often. I like a fast-paced environment and the hours really don't feel that long because I'm so busy all the time, the days and weeks have flown in, but that's not necessarily going to suit everyone
