Pros
If you are looking for just a ‘job’ then this is absolutely NOT the place for you. Now if you want a career…something that you are willing to work hard for…then you will be a perfect fit for this culture. I love that Duncan knows it has to continually evolve to stay relevant, successful and profitable and they are looking for team members who want to make a difference and engage. This is absolutely a creative company that offers creative freedom. However, please be aware…with creative freedom comes responsibility and hard work. Here are other positive things about Duncan: They hold everyone to the same standard This culture easily identifies those who are just staying below the radar and trying to skate their way through They recognize and acknowledge high performers…if there is not a next level to promote you they will find a way! 100% supportive of working parents both mothers and fathers Great Health benefits Amazing company perks (free snacks, services, and health & wellbeing programs) Great support with adjusting work schedules to accommodate team members needs And the greatest thing about Duncan…is the great people!
Cons
They could do a better job on their PTO packages They should establish a better anniversary (5, 10, 15, 20, 25…) years of service acknowledgement program. Could do a better job at their 401K match…however in my research they are still better than most It sometimes takes too long to get rid of dead weight. Duncan will go above and beyond to work on low performing team members. It’s a con for someone like me who works hard and has to work around dead weight. However, I could see this as a PRO if you are a person who just wants a ‘job’…just depends on who you are.
