Duncan Lewis Solicitors Response
7yWhilst we are sorry that you felt you could not speak about these concerns whilst you were still with us, we appreciate that you have taken the time to lay them out now so that we may be informed of ways to be mindful of employee satisfaction.
We encourage those wishing to further their career in law and gain a training contract to take the initiative to demonstrate their ability to take that next step. With the opportunity to register up to 100 training contracts with SRA at any given time, we offer training contracts internally, to those that have worked within the firm for a minimum of 6 months, in the capacity of a caseworker or another client services’ department. We may also offer training contacts to external candidates with 1 years’ experience in a particular area of law where there is a business need.
It is important to us that all fee earners feel supported and motivated when managing their caseload. Where possible, we will match a supervisor/ director with a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers who work well together with an aim to ensure team-wide success.
If an individual team member is feeling that they are under undue pressure, we recommend speaking first to their supervisor who will be able to advise them on measures they can take to improve the situation. As experts in their own field, all supervisors will have their own ways to manage stress and make sure the quality of work is sustained when time is tight. Where further training is required, we have a log of training available to staff using subscriptions and internal/ external providers to make sure all staff feel able to do their job to the best of their ability.
