Pros

Some great people on the team who are talented, work hard, and are fun to be around. The product has potential in a growing market, but needs more innovation Good runway with strong VC funding

Cons

The biggest challenge the company faces stems from a single source: the CEO. His leadership style and decision-making patterns have created a stagnant yet chaotic environment. While he has started multiple businesses, he has never truly built a company with a scalable team, a strong culture, or a strategic vision - and it shows. He boasts about never having a real job or a manager, which is clearly evident in how he operates the business. He is a micromanager in every way, unwilling to delegate real authority. After some early exciting traction as AI trends took off, growth has completely stalled. Innovation has been nonexistent for several months, with many product initiatives started and abruptly abandoned. Decision making is erratic, priorities shift constantly and strategies change on a weekly basis, creating a cycle of inefficiency. The team never grows beyond 25 people. Whenever headcount reaches this threshold, layoffs occur, seemingly to ensure that things stay within his control. He hires experienced, well-compensated senior leaders, but only until they express an opinion that doesn't align with his, at which point they're ignored, mistreated, and eventually pushed out. Culture has completely deteriorated. It was at one point strong, with team-building activities, retreats, and social events. Now, there is nothing; not even a holiday gathering... The workplace operates on fear, with employees constantly worried about being fired. It seems the company is run as a personal project rather than a scalable business. Employee contributions are undervalued, and the team has no real ownership over the company’s success. Morale is at an all-time low, but folks are afraid to speak up for fear of being fired.

Pros

Durable went through a big cultural change over the past year which well positioned it to be one of the most exciting companies out there. We're now an AI-first startup with state-of-the-art products in the works shipped within weeks. The team is small, senior, and motivated! Everyone is an owner and heard. If you love coming up with new ideas, building pocs, and shipping in a fast-paced manner, this is the place to be. From an engineering pov, we're up to date with the latest tech. It's quite fun to not be constrained by legacy tech. The compensation and benefits are excellent and among the best.

Cons

- Very fast paced with lots of ownership which is typical in a startup. This can feel overwhelming for those who don't expect it or are not used to it. - Things can change a lot within a short timeframe.

Pros

Working at Durable is unlike anywhere else I’ve been. It is an AI-first culture that is reshaping how teams operate and what individuals are capable of. You’re encouraged to challenge traditional ways of working and help build a future-focused company. What stands out most is the vision. We’re not just iterating. We’re creating something new. That means real freedom to explore ideas, stretch into new responsibilities, and grow alongside the company. The product is amazing. Backed by incredible product, dev, and customer teams that deliver fast and solve problems creatively. Everyone is deeply committed to building something impactful and it shows in the quality and pace of the work. The team culture is another massive plus. It’s a small, seriously talented group of people doing big, meaningful things. And they do it without ego. Collaboration is real, and support is constant. The benefits are excellent. Competitive salary, generous vacation, and a real respect for work-life balance. Personal time is actually respected, which makes a big difference in a startup environment.

Cons

Nothing unexpected for a fast-moving, high-growth startup. It’s a place with high standards and a lot of hustle. Not the right fit if you’re looking for a slow pace or just want to coast. There are occasional shifts in plans or targets as the company adapts to industry changes. But that agility keeps things exciting. Some operational pieces are still being ironed out. It’s not perfectly oiled yet. But the company is hiring thoughtfully and leveling up the team in a strong, intentional way.
