Pros
- Free Lunch
- Perks such as birthday off, commissions you can buy stuff with without paying taxes
- Initial friendly environment
Cons
- Lack of management skills, making certain projects managers afraid to do their job or standing their ground when facing the CTO
-"Family" environment, meaning that people get special privileges when it comes to various professionals things around the company, stuff you need to do your daily work and the way you are treated. If you're not in the buddy group, you're pretty much done professionally.
- Grudges without being described to you, making your professional life a living hell
- Computers you are given to work with are basically 8 years old and/or lack the basic requirements to do your daily job, for example, an intern was given a laptop with 4gb of ram to run dockers and IDEs
- Lack of support for tools such as adaptors to plug in monitors, currently, people with 2 monitors are not being given adaptors without a proper reason.
- If you voice your opinions, and they go against either team management (project management) or the CTO, you are almost invited to "fire yourself" or in certain cases, they wait for you to go into your vacations, and 2 hours before, schedule a generic meeting about "performance evaluation", making you feel anxious and not enjoy your away time. Certainly not a very professional company and not a top 20 to work on in Portugal.
