Pros
Other than the fact that you will get paid (with what you were committed to or manipulated with deductions shown through taxes) there is really no pro.
Cons
Recruiters are there but all they will do is munch over your face on the call while you will be battling hard to find a project and place yourself. These are probably family relatives /friends of the employer who are there to only collect share. No transparency of anything, every Paycheck will be different. You will not be shown your PO of what you are actually making in the project. No compensation of any kind when you don't have a project or want to work on your extensions. Almost every considerate consulting firm will take care of your immigration expenses as a basic courtesy and will try getting you placed for taking that 20% cut but don't expect anything from this thug. Not only will you be charged but your visa expenses will be projected to the max by showing hypothetical lawyer fee and other service charges. You will be charged literally for every penny and dime as all losses are yours and all gain is his. Your career your personal problems do not matter here. keep the 20% on his table and try negotiating in that 80% of yours in case you want to join. Owner is nearing retirement and does not have any plan to keep this going anyway who simply wants to mint money from younger generation and probably close this firm for good and there is no long term vision or plan to keep the organization up and running
