Pros

It's fun to be around the youth and you get free room and board. For a college student that is a good thing to not have to worry about how you are going to get by in the summer.

Cons

Nearly everything else. You are severely underpaid for the job. Your day goes from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm at night, and you are constantly working. On Friday night you have to stay up until 1:00 am and later to make sure that the kids don't escape. Then you have a meeting Saturday morning and a three hour devotional on Sunday, both of which are complete wastes of time. And you make $400 for all of that. Beyond that, the staff on top is incredibly incompetent. Expect late paychecks, messed up travel arrangements, W-2 forms that mysteriously disappear at the end of the year, etc. They do not view you as a person, they view you as just an asset. For example, I was apart from my fiancee for two months and she came into Provo for one day while travelling. My boss would not let me leave the kids for an hour to go see her. Real nice. Also if you are not interesting in working in a strenuously LDS environment do not work here. I did not mind teaching the gospel all the time, but the constant devotionals and things got really annoying. It takes a very special person to work for EFY, and one that does not care about normal worker's rights or fair management. Basically EFY gets by having horrible management and pay by treating it like it is just service opportunity. But they forget that their employees are actually college students who have a life.
