While most coworkers are good people, the bad ones make life here awful. The management at the company is floundering. Many of the mid-to-upper level managers want to make improvements to the company but are stifled by the CEO, who dictates how the company is run based on how he feels any given day. It's common knowledge that things like bonuses can get withheld if the CEO is in a bad mood or decides you're the cause of some problem, regardless of the actual reasons for said issue. HR is ineffectual at best, and is ill-equipped to make positive changes to the company culture. Some managers will do their best to buffer their employees from the worst of it, but others micromanage to the point of making this a toxic place to work. New employees come in excited to work for a company with ETAP's reputation in the industry, but within a few months are just as anxious to find new employment as everyone else. Project tasks for development and testing are calculated and managed by the hour, instead of in days. Working from home is not an option. Getting up to take a break or go to the bathroom is discouraged by some managers. Working here takes perfectly nice people and makes them cynical and frustrated all the time.
