Pros

The pay is good for a service job with nice benefits; it is just enough to have me stay at this unsustainable place.

Cons

It is very clear that management only cares about turning profit, and their ideas of how to do so are so fantastical and poorly executed that it is NO WONDER that EVERY SINGLE upper management member (besides two) across the entire store has quit or attempted to quit. This store is a sinking ship, and if you work here as anything other than in management you will be treated horribly. Located in one of the most expensive retail locations in Dallas, it is very clear that the cost of labor was not a consideration when opening the store. Every Single Department is understaffed, so much so that multiple service counters have had to shut down entirely for weeks at a time. Every person I talk to on the floor is extremely resentful of the workplace and is burned out. The Salumi/Formaggi department has 2 staff members, and their manager works overtime every week to make sure his team is taken care of. He (Eli) is one of the few management members that seems to actually care about his department. Other than that, I have talked to a few employees who have worked 12 hour shifts 7 days a week in order to make sure that the Fresh Island is taken care of. This is not an exaggeration. That is unacceptable, and the fact that hiring for the department is blocked because they "can't afford" to hire anyone right now (yet actively still hire servers for restaurants) is ridiculous. A coworker of mine was fired for talking about salaries with some of the bartenders, raising concerns that they make significantly less than any other servers yet are still expected to do the jobs of the servers in a moment's notice. Targeting the employees for salary discussion is against the law. But Eataly Dallas does not seem to care in the slightest. Every service worker here is unhappy. Unfair excuses for denying Year review raises, promotions, growth in the company, etc. has left some of the most talented people looking for jobs elsewhere. If an actual health inspector ever saw the way the restaurants or service counters are run they would have a heart attack. All in all this place is the biggest sinking ship I have ever seen, and the entire staff is rooting for it to just sink already.

Pros

Amazing managers who listen and care for their employees

Cons

None! Best job I’ve had and would work there 100% hands down if I still lived in the city. It gets insanely busy but it comes with the territory
