Pros

Working as bookseller has given me some practical skills that are applicable to other career that I'm trying to pursue.

Cons

Horrible store management and toxic work environment. The CEO is not a nice person, he berates and talks down upon anyone that does not agree with him. No HR, imagine there being nobody to speak to if an issue arises. Thus, there is no professional growth and there is no formal performance review and feedback to help you grow. Good luck, hope you're strong!

Pros

Job with lots of variety: I’m involved in staffing, merchandising, operations, customer service, campus partnerships, inventory management, promotions, and event coordination. Positive team energy and strong leadership. Exposure to many sides of retail management almost from the start. Above-average compensation. Solid benefits package, especially the PTO, healthcare coverage, and retirement options.

Cons

The workload may feel heavier during promotional events and seasonal transitions.
