Many of employees are concerned about female gender representation at this 1200-person company. As of 2025, our executive leader of People (who is female — and the only one!) isn't even featured on the company website, which sends a problematic message. This is sadly part of a much broader issue within the organization, and the executives.
Recently, a qualified female candidate withdrew from our interview process specifically citing our many Glassdoor reviews about gender imbalance and the apparent absence of women in leadership. When I mentioned we actually do have female leaders, they responded that their invisibility was even more concerning.
Particularly troubling is a particular leader in the finance department who has actively contributed to and historically blocked female hires—and disturbingly, this particular individual is themselves a woman. These individuals not only perpetuate a discriminatory culture but also lead through fear, intimidation and consistently demonstrate degrading and backstabbing behavior towards employees and even their leadership colleagues across the organization.
