Pros

Free snacks, free drinks, free doughnuts occasionally, pool table and down stairs offices for extra curricular activities ;) Not having to hate a single manager for long.

Cons

Where do I even start? Employee retention at Ekco is as low as the bar for getting hired in the first place. The senior leadership is basically just profile pictures on Teams, executive who have no clue about the departments they’re making big decisions for. And job security? Pretty much nonexistent, especially if you’re a team leader or above. Good luck keeping your job. In less than a year there, I had five different line managers. Being an FCR engineer was exhausting and really high-pressure. Burnout felt almost encouraged by senior management. It’s a shame - I actually really enjoyed the job when I had a decent manager running a good team. Con honorable mention: - The extortionate parking - The toilet cleanliness - Staff hygiene - The call that never work boards - Low salaries - Low morale But overall, the workplace has turned into this stressful, unenjoyable environment where the workload is massive and staff retention is rock bottom. If you are thinking of joining as an FCR, please do your self a favor and find another job. Homelessness is a viable option vs this job.

Pros

WFH Good benefits Some great people work here who genuinely care

Cons

Leadership across the organisation is weak and largely absent. When the current CEO joined, there was an initial sense of optimism, but that quickly faded. Within the 2nd week, his visibility completely dropped and it became clear it wasn't getting any better. There’s little communication and you rarely see or hear from the people who are supposed to be leading the business. There is little effort to engage with teams, or build trust beyond 'inner circles'. Operationally the organisation lacks structure. Processes and systems are messy and inconsistent, making it inefficient and decisions take a long time to be made. The business is continuing to decline, with clients being lost regularly. There’s a constant conveyor belt of senior leadership coming in, bringing their own people, ‘rebuilding’ it and then the whole thing just repeats. It’s completely cyclical. A disappointing and uninspiring company to work for. I’d strongly advise anyone considering joining to carefully think twice.
