Pros

The Charlottesville management put together an excellent team of Analyst, both Junior and Senior levels.

Cons

The CEO was not competent to oversee a govt contract. One got the impression that the whole operation was being run out of his living room. We later found out that a large part of it actually was. Very unprofessional.

EOR has had plenty of opportunities to learn, grow and improve. 2011 stands out as one of the best years for organizational improvement and lessons learned. EOR grew 1400% in 2011-2012 and had my management team working around the clock from almost every location that we could, many of these locations included our offices in Maryland, Virginia and California. I can only apologize for not doing a better job of managing that explosive growth rate in a better way and for not managing perception amongst some of the employees like the one that made the comment above. Many things have changed since that time and I am grateful to everyone that helped us grow-up as a business since that time. For background, EOR successfully performed on The IWAS contract in Charlottesville, VA for several years in an FFP/LOE format. The newer version of the contract was moved from FFP/LOE to a pure FFP format that was inconsistent with the culture and expectations of our customer at that time. The disconnect between the 13 various governmental technical reps, the funding lines and the complexities introduced by the multiple COR's that were assigned to provide support to the contract didn't set anyone up for success. The great thing that happened during that contract is that EOR was able to develop a new system for saving tax payer dollars, demonstrating Earned Value (EVMS), increasing efficiencies by over 300%, gaining letters of recommendation from high ranking governmental offices and even though EOR was only paid to answer a finite number of questions for troops that were in harms way, by working collaboratively with the Government Representatives, EOR was empowered and invested heavily in providing rear area support for those troops and in deploying several teams overseas. By doing this EOR ensured that we saved as many lives as possible. In addition, EOR develop advanced Ontologies, Taxonomies, Databases and Processes to ensure that things would be better for everyone going forward. As to the comments above, I have learned a lot about perception management, have improved my communication styling's and have grown EOR to a highly scalable, stable and much healthier organization than we had in 2011. I appreciate everyone that contributed to the same and helped EOR improve each year since that time.

Pros

I worked at the NGIC facility for EOR, I worked as a Senior Intelligence Analyst, the Deputy Program Manager provided me with OJT on-site and the opportunity to travel around the world, working in exciting places and helping to save lives. I have been provided opportunities to learn about proposal management, business development and working for multiple agencies since I left Charlottesville. EOR has provided me consistent opportunities to grow into a better professional, diversify my skills and improve my salary each year :-)

Cons

You get out of EOR, what you put into it. Some of the contracts span the entire world, making it hard for everyone to really get to know each other face to face, but overall, my interactions with the company have been very positive and were definitely improved when I decided to invest time and make it a priority in my life.
