Pros
Engineering work widely varies; desk work one minute and turning a wrench the next. You get a lot of opportunities to grow as an engineer. Most people are friendly and good to work with. Current GM is trying very hard to turn the company around with higher salaries and better work/life balance.
Cons
Extremely negative work environment with low morale as a direct result of the illogical, nonsensical, and sometimes unethical decisions made by the most senior managers. Impossible due dates and timelines imposed on an undersized, overworked staff by managers who have no concept of the time required to design and build the products which they sell. Sales is allowed to rule the production process without regard for engineering or shop capacity; a very small percentage of the sales staff actually makes an effort to consult with engineering and the shop prior to selling equipment. Upper level managers have no regard for work/life balance no matter how overloaded the staff is. Upper level managers do their best to ignore employee concerns regarding ethical behavior (or lack thereof) at the company.
