Pros

Elysium Health as a concept is quite admirable. The company itself was founded on solid principles and a unique goal, to combine in house research and development in the cutting edge of longevity science, with the slick and seamless e-commerce aspect, geared at selling their supplement lines. The commitment to scientific integrity and research, coupled with its e-commerce wing bringing these products to market to be made available to customers is what truly makes Elysium Health stand out as a unique company.

Cons

Despite its unique blend of R&D, ongoing clinical trials and commitment to its scientifically backed products, Elysium Health fails miserably to support its own staff or foster any semblance of company culture. While there is a huge beautiful office located in the heart of Manhattan, it typically feels like a ghost town on your average day, with only the 2-3 regulars that make the trek in. It seems at one point the company made a push to work form home temporarily, until the pandemic subsided. This however became the norm and as the pandemic restrictions lifted, workers chose to work from home instead. While I think we ALL appreciate the work form home option and the work/life balance it has given us, efforts should be taken by companies to ensure communication channels are solidified, meetings and open dialogue are maintained and there should be a concerted effort for the company to bring its employees together , and foster a shared company culture and value, so that we all know we belong to something bigger and feel pride and attachement to our work annd towards each other. Working in CX is unfortunately equivalent to working as a sattelite, detached from most of the remainder of the company, and constantly kept in the dark regarding important updates, changes, transitions etc. In over 2 years of work, we had a total of 2 company wide stand up meetings, which left most of us feeling relegated to working on endless tickets and phone calls. You will be told from day 1 that projects and new responsibilities are coming your way, collaborations with other teams, and "big things are coming" for the company. However these projects will just get tacked on top to you regular workload and ticket /phone quotas. You will be asked to complete a yearly review and detail what your goals and aspirations are too move up and progress with the company, which would typically be followed by a yearly raise or at minimum a cost of living adjustment to follow inflation increase year over year. These yearly review processings will be postponed multiple times (2 years delayed and still never processed). Finally, you will hope that with good news on sales goals being met and smashed, perhaps now your team may at least receive a small raise, however unfortunately this did not happen after a full two years. No clear path or mentorship will be provided, as many companies do with career roadmaps, to help employees in formulating a strategy to succeed. Unfortunately, this lack of upward mobility, lack of transparency and general lack of community is very unfortunate and disheartening, as I truly believe at its core, Elysium Health is revolutionary in its mission and strategy. I truly hope they continue to succeed and perhaps turn a greater focus to employee development and appreciation. IF YOU VALUE UPWARD MOBILITY, career progression and expect to receive any type of pay raise over time, Elysium Health is unfortunately not the place for you, as wages are known to remain stagnant and any news of promotions of career advancement are constantly pushed forward into the future because of pending “funding” the company needs. There is no incentive for employees and no path towards role progression, just repetitive talk future promises that will never come. If you value your time and want to move up in your professional career, choose another path.
