Pros

All employees are doing the best they can with their work and bring desired results.

Cons

All eyes are always on you and it made me uncomfortable to move around and do my own thing. But we also have to follow all the steps every procedure which makes it more uncomfortable working here in general.

Pros

There are absolutely no pros

Cons

They posted the position of an admin assistant with salary range of $400-$600 a week so I applied and was called for an interview the same day I applied! That should have been the first red flag. They play a game of calling you in for multiple rounds of interviews but there isnt really a postion of admin assistant open. The position is 100% commission sales role, where you have to stand in front of a store such as shoprite , setup a table and try to sell products to shoppers. A very very teeny portion of the sales benefits charities like Operation Smile and DARE and they want you to use that as a selling point to guilt people into buying the junk. A similarly tiny portion of the sales will be your commission. After working an entire week my commission was less than $20 because I essentially compete for the sales with the other team mates standing at the sales table with me. Very cult like mentality meetings in the morning with loud music and lots of high fiving and clapping/chanting

Pros

Daily 1-hour training on sales techniques and product pitching. I have learned much from the training. However, I did not truly believe in the wrap-up part of the daily training--some inspirational stories of success and hard working. When I was in the field, I could easily make drops by applying the sales pitch to customers. Every day, in the middle of the day and after work, your team leader checks in with you and help you improve. Employees there were very friendly and chatty because they were technically salespeople (though they recognize themselves as direct marketer)

Cons

It's very boring doing the same pitch every day. I also dislike the sales pitch. It was like tricking customers to purchase impulsively. I did not even believe in the sales pitch myself. I have talked with team leaders and the boss that I did not feel comfortable lying about the truth (e.g. this is our last day here). They told me to think like this: yes yesterday was our last day, but if customers see us again on the next day, it's because we did so well and the retailer asked us back. In addition, you cannot choose which product and where to sell. If you luckily get to sell in Costco, you are guaranteed to make lots of drops a day and earn a bucket. If you unfortunately have to sell at Canadian Tier, you expect to make a greater effort and get fewer sales. Lots of people quit in the first month. When I quit the job and received my cheque, it was a lot less than I expected.
