Energy Insight Response
7yEnergy Insight’s corporate culture is built around the belief that life is not all about work. We recognize that healthy, productive employees need to maintain balance and perspective in their lives, and we always try to respect team members’ personal time. As consultants in the energy efficiency field, our energy analysts and engineers spend a significant portion of their time gathering data and conducting energy analyses at customer facilities. This work cannot be done remotely from the office. Most of these site visits are local and do not require overnight stays, but we tell new employees in these positions to expect 2-3 days of travel every other week.
We also let them know there may be rare occasions when extended site visits (more than 3-4 days) are required, and that travel is sometimes necessary to attend conferences and trainings. We do not (and never have) asked employees to work on the weekends.
As a company, we value diversity and unique perspectives. We welcome employees from all backgrounds and provide advancement opportunities for everyone on our team. New employees benefit from working side-by-side with experienced energy engineers and analysts, some of whom have been in the field for decades. Seasoned employees are eager to share their knowledge and real-world experience with new hires, recognizing that they also can learn from these relationships. Every new addition to our team brings with them fresh knowledge of energy-saving technologies and creative techniques that can benefit clients. Welcoming their ideas and being open to new ways of doing things keep our company smart and relevant in a rapidly evolving field. We strive to never fall short of that goal.
