Pros

There are some really smart and collaborative people.

Cons

Leadership team acts like a clique of middle school mean girls and revels in a fear-based culture. Lots of favoritism, conflicting feedback, SO much gaslighting. Antiquated/lack of basic operational processes. Simple things (like getting invoices paid) are difficult to get done. People disappear with no/sketchy explanations and are disparaged once they are gone. Despite a decent female/male staff makeup, bro culture abounds and sadly women often do not support each other because of the mean girl/fear based culture leadership loves. It’s toxic. If you’re looking for a truly mission-based organization with an inclusive culture, look elsewhere.

Pros

Really interesting work, you are at the forefront of the VPP industry. Remote company, cool Brooklyn office, some people are there for the mission. SFT is cool as hell.

Cons

The most recent review from 3/27 is spot on. EnergyHub runs like a chaotic, mismanaged high school, and that stems from leadership down. Ego trips and gossip galore, from leadership, to management, to ICs. It's a core part of the culture at this point. Leadership is all but absent. Employees have 3x the workload and concerns are dismissed when this is raised to management. Priorities shift at the drop of a hat. For a company that's been around for 10+ years and has a parent company, there are no career ladders and raises/promotions are random. Benefits are well below industry standard. 14 days PTO, Juneteenth, Christmas and New Years Eve are not paid holidays. AI is shoved down people's throats despite how absolutely horrible it is for the environment, and it definitely hasn't reduced anyone's workload or made things run any smoother. This was a fantastic place to be a few years ago. Now, I wouldn't recommend it. Go elsewhere if you value inclusivity, the environment, your mental sanity.
