Pros

Director of Operations is an excellent project manager who goes above and beyond to fulfill the growing needs of this startup. Sales representatives who are approachable and serve as friendly coworkers. In-house sales trainer Medical, dental and vision 10 vacation days Flexible sick days/make up days Located close to downtown Pittsburgh

Cons

The dilapidated environment with poor ventilation and heating, clutter, and dreary, neglected furniture that appears to have been found at a landfill may affect your everyday mental health. You may forget that you are bringing money to a business that in return cannot invest in proper furniture, desks and chairs, cleaning tools, markers, pens, paper or a better functioning vacuum. If leadership has remembered it is your first day, you may be presented with a Chromebook that may work without freezing or shutting down on a daily basis. The 'tech deck' which should be referred to as 'tech card' for its singular tool of sales engagement platform SalesLoft does not run well on the Chromebooks as the makeshift laptops are not business machines. As an admin I was not privy to account information, but worked mainly on spreadsheets, not knowing their purposes. This position will not be refilled, but know the culture is unspokenly one with large power distances. Remain in your station or face the consequences. Poor formal announcement of warnings. Little to no positive feedback. There are no incentive programs, no sales competitions, and no employee relations efforts, despite plans of implementing an employee pod program. Repetitive sales training that take up time with diminishing returns. The new sales trainer is very gifted and promising, but it is only a matter of time before leadership hinders her ability, too. Nightly reports are mandatory, yet you may get little to no feedback when support is needed. Not a space where ideas are welcome to increase the efficiency of business operations. Poor retention rate of young employees. Those fresh out of college with high hopes for progressive workplaces and open workspaces will not find that here. If you are of an older generation and are used to mistreatment maybe this work environment will suit you for a longer period of time. High turnover of female employees. There is a disparity in female salespeople. We need more women in sales, and we need more men empowering women in sales. If there is not an IMMEDIATE direct correlation between your efforts and ROI for the sales process your efforts will be deemed as unnecessary and problematic. The most important person in this company that manages the daily operations and client satisfaction is severely underpaid and underappreciated. The Buy-The-Build clients should have none of these internal problems, but if salespeople are seeking an in-house position, keep searching. Most importantly, there is a history of sexual harassment claims and assault at this company that should worry anyone interested in working here.

Cons

This was my true and honest experience that needs to be shared with others: Engaged Prospect has an extremely high employee turn-over rate. During my tenure with the company, we lost around 12 employees. Keep in mind, the most employees this company has at a time is usually around 20, so this is a relatively high turn-over rate. Most employees do not last more than 6 months, with the exception of about 4 employees. They are constantly interviewing and hiring because the door is always revolving. The company culture is extremely toxic. Management will belittle you and make you feel inadequate. Employees are friendly for the most part, but there is always a tension in the air because everyone is miserable. I could go on and on about how unbelievably toxic my experience was at this company, but I'll save you the time. Ignore the reviews that say they are good, these are from the very few employees that have lasted. Simply said, do not waste your time, talents, skills, and energy on this company. Seek other options unless you need temporary employment and don't mind being on sales calls all day like a telemarketer.
