Still have EA PTSD - Anonymous employee Episcopal Academy Employee Review

Pros

Lunch, teaching supplies and technology are provided.

Cons

Students bully staff. Parents bully staff. Staff bullies other staff. All of this is swept under the rug. Victims are blamed, isolated, and asked to shift their behavior in order to belong. You will begin excited about community and end up questioning your own self-worth. EA was a brutal, isolating experience. It was dehumanizing. There are some well-meaning educators, but enough bad actors are present in high positions to corrupt EA’s stated values (“stripes”).

Pros

Profesional development support Free lunch The faculty and staff are generally really good people and good teachers

Cons

The psychological games the administration plays with its employees would make the Eagans look like the Dalai Llama (Severance reference). It’s sad to see a formerly prestigious educational institution run like a business where the CEO, er head of school, collects a salary that’s 10x the average teacher salary. Or the CFO. Or the COO. And then treat those employees like garbage at any opportunity. It is a well-polished turd though with a robust PR team.
