Pros

1. A good legacy product, that impacts worldwide. 2. Has a potential to do great things 3. Good company if you are into telecom space 4. Work life balance is sometimes okay, depends on work. 5. Good place to learn, and acquire skills.

Cons

1. Awful management, strategy changes every 6 months. 2. No vision for future of the company. It is right now in a state where it seems to not have much capital to invest in something new. All of the investment made in previous years, did not pay back the expected return. All bets are given to 5G with fingers crossed and eyes shut! 3. Decision are made, with no risk analysis of what could go wrong. 4. Decisions are made from Sweden, and Ottawa being a remote site does NOT have a 'say' to change those decisions. 5. Too much politics within the management and sometimes within employees. 6. Very few of the managers are complete awful! They should not be given that position at all . All they need is a "Yes man!" mindset of people. 7. Hiring mechanism is broken. As long as you can type, and are human, you are "in". 8. Within Canada, Ericsson has lost the reputation to get new grads and experienced engineers from reputable universities. It has become more of a "training ground" where you learn and leave as soon as possible. 9. No stock options. 10. Free parking is given as a perk ! 11. Company is doing too much of cost cutting, for that, they are loosing some of the basics in keeping this ship sane. 12. Raise are given based on "visibility" among the management. 13. Morale of employee is all time low. 14. Age difference between new grads and experienced is getting big. Time to say hello to your grandparents. 15. Whole company is slow. Not agile. 16. Telecom space is becoming a "Dinosaur technology", so for new grads it does not interest much. 17. Company is not evolving as fast as the market around. 18. Not a market leader in telecom space anymore. 17. There is a growing population of seniors who are near to retirement, that were hired at the time of Nortel, and the management is not doing anything to train to replace them. 18. A small number of the managers do not know the difficulties of developers. They would just say things, literally anything to sound 'technical', use you for their selfish agenda, not because it is helping the company but because each manager has to show something, that they are doing "something". A , classic out of the book, good-old narcissist.

Pros

The company culture is great. Super flexible, remote work culture and tons of different areas or career paths to pivot into. International company with offices in 180 different countries. Loads of diversity.

Cons

Many teams can be international, so timezones will conflict a lot and make it much harder to work with people who are overseas as they are logging off as you are getting on. This also causes communication issues as sometimes there can be language barriers.
