Pros
1. The job is very very easy
2. You work in the downtown core
3. When there is no work coming down from the lawyers/paralegals/clerks you basically do nothing but wait until lunch time or quitting time.
Cons
1. There is constant drama between the legal team and within the copy team.
2. The vast majority of the staff has a negative opinion of the company and even the people they work with.
3. When contracts expire you are left in the dark if you will continue working at that location or even if you will be let go.
4. The leadership team at my site sometimes get into conversations with associates and the topics can be very unprofessional.
5. Once you learn how to copy/print/bind/delivery/cut there is minimal opportunities to learn new skills/software.
6. Absolutely no teamwork.
7. Sometimes the legal team gives us unrealistic deadlines.
8. There are occasionally shouting matches between the leadership team and associates.
9. If they lose a site it does not matter how effective you are in your job if there is someone who has more seniority you will be let go or sent to another site. Regardless how terrible they can be at their job.
10. They say its a competitive pay but it is just standard to the industry.
11. There are people who have been hired with no copy or print skills that are friends with other people in the company.
12. People bring their drama from home, it effects their productivity and they vent to others so you have to work harder to keep up with the work. The leadership team not only ignores this but they enable the issue.
13. Not a lot of opportunities for promotions because of the limited positions. Basically at a sit there are associates, coordinators (not all sites), assistant managers and manager.
14. People go on instagram/facebook/reddit when the feel they have done their share of work and ignore work for as long as they can until the leadership team gets upset.
