Pros
There is good money to be made here, especially given the location and consistent foot traffic. Most team members are supportive and hardworking, and lower management, including the ASM, do a solid job. Overall, the staff culture among team members is a strong point.
Cons
Unfortunately, the general manager’s leadership style makes the work environment difficult. The management approach is highly authoritarian, with little room for collaboration and a heavy focus on criticism and micromanagement.
When ECs (shift leads) are working the floor, their input on shift cuts or pacing is often dismissed, even though they are directly seeing changes in volume. This can result in over staffing that impact servers and bartenders earnings.
The environment feels driven more by fear and control than trust. Favoritism also appears to play a role in how team members are treated. While this is a place where money can be made, that experience often depends on being in the GM’s good graces.
